Feeling to Encouraged to be Discouraged!
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Good morning! It's beautiful right now in MN and was gorgeous yesterday. My niece, Desi, and nephew Cole celebrated their 4th and 1st birthday's yesterday. It was an amazing princess and prince party. All the favors were hand-made by Niki (their mom). There were literally no children arguing, fighting, whining. . .it was truly a blessed afternoon. Ellie was missed but I'm sure she was smiling down from Heaven.

It's been a month since I wrote last. And now I write to request prayers. My brother-in-law, Gerald, was diagnosed with cancer on Tuesday. They say he may have had this for as many as two years. We are whirling. So many questions . . . mostly why. Ellie's passing is still so fresh. Please pray. Pray that the cancer will shrink, shrivel and die. Pray for strength for this family. Pray for a miracle.

This was a day our lives were forever changed. As Niki wrote on her blog - this day a year ago Ellie was diagnosed with DIPG. Things are forever different. In lots of good ways and in sobering and sad ways. . .none of which I know how to explain verbally.

Such a Honey

Sorry I haven't gotten pictures up yet! I'm working now! So spoiled before that I don't know how anyone finds the time to do anything . .. ahhh! BUT I love it and working at NewDay is such a blessing on so many levels!
So just a quick story about Jade. I've started participating in the Healing Rooms Ministry and on Tuesday Gary came out for prayer (his shoulders and wrists are still a challenge) and of course brought Jade with. So while I was "working" and Gary was being prayed over Jade sat with one of the directors named Joan. And Joan was asking Jade all sorts of questions mostly about God and Jesus. I guess one of the questions she asked Jade was what would she do if Jesus was there with them and standing in front of her. Jade said she'd draw him a picture and then they'd go walking down the street hand in hand!
I just love that! She's been a real spokesperson for heaven and Jesus lately. She is so tuned in! We are blessed to be her parents . . .it is such a privilege!
Well it's 80+ degree's out and I'm off to enjoy it! Love to you all!

I'm going to try to get back into writing weekly. We're all doing well. We miss our Ellie and her passing made it hard to write for a while. I can't explain it. . .I've just needed time.
So yesterday Jade was going to have a nectarine for a snack and she asks me to peel it for her. Only she says, "Mom can you hatch it or plug it or whatever it's called." I asked, "You mean peel it?"
I love that kind of stuff! So sweet and innocent. And to think that just that quickly the word 'peel' is now a part of her vocabulary.
I'll post pictures later in the week. . . just wanted to share the story before I forgot it.
